Tips for how to keep your property warm and retain tenants

In Southland it gets cold over winter, very cold!  Warm rental properties attract and keep good tenants.  Here are a few tips to property owners to help tenants keep your rental property warm.

  1. Insulation, we have all heard about the importance of insulation, for good reason, it helps make your property easier to heat and healthier, and helps your home find long term tenants
  2. Power bills in winter are hash in Southland and hot water is a large contributor.  We recommend you have a restrictor fitted, or perhaps replace the shower head to a low flow model
  3. Right heating.  A good heat pump attracts tenants, match this with good insulation and you will keep tenants longer.

As dedicated property managers in Invercargill, we try and give our landlords helpful advice to ensure their rental property is attracting and keeping good tenants.  Property Management is our core focus of business and at Propertyscouts we can arrange assistance with your property to arrange improvements and maintenance.
